Architectural Designer

The role

Herauf Modular designs and manufactures residential, commercial and community buildings using a modular process. Established in 2018, we serve municipalities, Indigenous communities, private developers and corporate clients with buildings made to last.

We are looking for an experienced Architectural Designer for our Regina location. The right person develops architectural concepts, detailed drawings and design solutions for modular buildings, and understands that modular design asks for a different approach than conventional construction.

What you will do

• Develop architectural concepts and preliminary designs for modular buildings, and prepare detailed drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, details and construction documents.
• Create and maintain accurate digital building models.
• Carry designs from the client's first concept through to construction-ready drawings.
• Review project requirements, specifications, site information and client needs.
• Coordinate the design with structural, mechanical, electrical and civil requirements.
• Work with engineers and consultants to coordinate design requirements.
• Keep designs compliant with provincial building codes, standards, zoning and accessibility requirements, and designed for modular manufacturing, transport, installation and on-site assembly.
• Assist with material selections, finishes, specifications and architectural details.
• Prepare drawings and documentation for permitting and approvals.
• Take part in design meetings with clients, consultants, project managers and internal teams.
• Support estimating and costing with accurate quantities and design information.
• Keep project files, drawings, specifications and documentation organized.
• Manage several projects and deadlines while holding a high level of accuracy.

What you bring

• Three to five years turning conceptual designs into construction-ready technical documents.
• Diploma in Architectural Technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and zoning across Western Canada.
• Experience working with engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage several projects at once, with strong problem solving.
• Valid driver's licence.
