Prefab, short for prefabricated, covers any home built off-site. A Herauf modular home is one kind: built indoors as finished sections to the National Building Code, meeting or exceeding CSA A277, then set on a permanent foundation in Alberta. On that foundation it is real property, financed and insured like a site-built house.
